yo jo! py is here... it has been a very hectic month for me.. finally, i can blog on this special blog for u! yeah! anyway, really glad that u r growing stronger in e Lord and i can see that yr ppl really love u lot! haha! how's life in rp? haha! it is like how many years we know each other? more than 6yrs? wow! incredible! thank God for the chance to get to noe u in these many years... haha! really wanna affirm u for being such a great sheepmate and then shepherd! i am definitely been blessed by u! all those fun times we spend with one another with weiting,denise, is unforgettable.. u have been a great leader and moreover, u r always willing to serve yr ppl.. 1yr older, 1yr more mature and 1 yr wiser.. haha! really wanna encourage u to continue to grow in e Lord and i believe that God can use u even more than now! jia you in yr studies and continue to lead even more ppl! But still, i want to tell you,
As much as you put in effort to connect to us when you just became our new UL,
it wasn't fake, but genuine and it shows of your love for God,

Thank you for being such a hyper leader! i always feel very touched when I see the efforts that you are putting into this new group of yours! :) Thank you for trying to know us better! haha actl you connect to people very fast. I must say again that knowing you is such a great blessing in my life!

You always go the extra effort to encourage and talk to the people around you! haha thank you for being so loving! :) we can definitely feel the support coming from you as we go out there and win people for God!

happy 18th bday! wanna take tis time to affirm u for ur creativity which is very evident when u led the central pple in the missions performance in camp! Throughout the preparation able to see ur ldrship in leading the pple in doin well in their roles and even though time was limited for practices and props spoilt, no speakers etc but nevertheless that didn’t stop you from getting the pple to cont to practise. Believe the performance was great and audiences enjoyed, most importantly believe the actors and dancers enjoyed themselves and friendships are built up through this as well! thx God for u!

perhaps leading ur unit would not be as easy becos ur sch is in woodlands and haf to go long distance, but believe God sees ur hardwork and will honour u! believe God has given u a great gift as well, a grp of pple that cares and loves u, which is ur unit! So cont give ur all to God becos God nv shortchange! Happy bday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Wanted to surprise you today. But it failed. :( But I guess it was a sweet attempt. haha. And you know what? I woke up early especially for you! :)) And we had an early and a nice birthday cake for breakfast.

Hmm. I've seen you grow since you are a young believer. When you were about to receive christ, when Jeslyn took you as her sheep, when you were still grounded by your mummy till now. It has indeed been a long journey with you. Seeing you grow in certain areas of your life till taking up the leadership role.

You've been a great support, a great influencer to the people around you and a great support to me. I never have to worry about things not being done because I know you are faithful and trustworthy to follow through. That makes serving God so much easier and fun together with you.( not to forget all the stupid things we did) And now, you are a unit leader of Central C, i believe that many people will be impacted through you and of course, God will use you to do even greater things for Him. Therefore, jia you! And I believe you can do it because God knows you can.

i've known you since i was.. sec 1(i think) and i still remember the first time i "interacted" with you. you were sitting beside me during praise. and we kept laughing at each other cause somehow we just couldnt jump and clap at the same time for that certain song. HAHA. okay, that's such a retarded memory but still. SHOWS THAT I CARE HUH!!!
HAHA.

okay, though we're in different groups now, i just wanna let you know that you've been a really great unit member(CENTRALC!), caregroup member(GRADS!) and uhh, current district member.
haha. it's such a cliche phrase, but you've really been a great blessing unto me.
the deepest impressions you left on me were during the grads days!
haha. like, you're always encouraging(everytime i was guitarist. HAHA.) and optimistic(you really contribute SO SO SO much to the atmosphere). everytime there's an outing, its like a DUH that we can count on you to make everyone high and go bonkers.
also, during the when-we-were-all-still-in-central-c-days, i could really see your love for the souls of the lost- for people you dont even know yet. and this desire to win souls is really admirable and this.. heart of yours, is really displayed through the little, everyday and ordinary actions you do. like, approaching those in the group that are growing quiet, and making the effort to talk to everyone. i think you're someone that really places others above yourself and i think that that's.. simply wow. :O

its been such a long time since i saw ALL the grads, but i'll be looking foward to our next reunion!! HAHA.
im not sure of the role you are in and the group you are in(sorry lah. different group you see! haha.), but i really believe, that you're doing a fantastic job.

Dearest Ang (Lao Gong),

We've known each other for slightly more than three years now I think? And I've REALLY seen you grow, both spiritually AND physically! Let's talk about the physical part first =p (Just to check, this is an all girls blog right? Oh well, if it isn't.. Too bad)

So here goes. (I hope you get the story or it won't make sense hahaha)

In the beginning, all the girls in Central C were known for having no assets. They were young, immature and undeveloped. They had nothing; all they had was an undying passion for God and His people, and strong sisterly love among one another that kept them united.

However, as time passed by, God favoured Ang and blessed her, and she grew. Even with SBs on all the time, her assets became far more visible than those of the other girls, cos somehow, theirs remained stagnant. Then one day, Ang realised God blessings were too much for her little SBs to contain! So she and Wei went down to the female section in the departmental store, and together, bought NBs. That was a significant day; it marked the emergence of her Maturity and Womanhood. The little girl had grown, and had outshone all the rest.

Even till this day, Ang's womanhood has not yet completed its work. Step by step, slowly but surely, it is teaching her to don fitted tops, bigger and longer earrings, and the sweeter smile.

Try as we might to hide, we can't deny that we are all excited to see what her womanhood has in store for us at the end of its work. After all, it has brought her a looonng way.

Alright, that was a mighty big load of crap. It's been fun watching each other grow :) Now brace yourself for the real thing..

Well, all these three years of our friendship, you've been a huge blessing to me. I remember the days we served together, the days the caregroups in our schools were still so small, and I remember our desperation - we were pioneering different schools, but we had the same heart for them. And I guess God eventually honoured us, that both our schools saw growth. In fact STC used to be bigger than Crescent, but then suddenly Crescent caught up! And we had a holy competition between us.

All the joys we went through together, loving and discipling our people and watching them grow up in God.. I guess even if we were to look back at all our past discouragements and spiritual droughts, we would still say today that it was all worth it. For all the lives we see loving and serving God now, it was definitely all worth it eh :) And you, my dear girl, deserve the applause of heaven for your perseverance and diligence all the while - your efforts that sometimes went unnoticed on earth, but which will definitely be proclaimed in heaven. Never, never give up, because your life makes a hell lot (if i may put it so bluntly) of difference. Just look at all the fruits of your labour.

And apart from companionship in ministry, thank you for the friendship I extended but which you went the extra mile to nurture. I know I've not been most faithful with my friendships and I'm definitely not the most initiative person when it comes to expressing my love for others. But you made the effort to talk to me anyway, to give me random hugs, the countless SMSes of concern, the encouragements either verbally or through a sincerely written card, and you were always the silent friend supporting me behind the scenes. For that, I can never thank you enough.

I will never forget the birthday surprise you and the pillars threw for me last year. And just from you alone, the huge balloon that made everyone think I was 50 years old, the huge handmade card, and the effort you put in to wake up early to meet me before school. I remember us all tearing after the round of affirmation, especially myself, because all along I never took the time to notice the faithful friends who were constantly by my side, and I never reciprocated the love you showed me to the same extent it was given to me. But now I know better, and though we're no longer in the same district, be assured that our friendship is still very much treasured in my heart.

The last thing I want to talk about is the night Daniel and Elise met up with the CC pillars to break the news about my transfer and.. you know what. I remember the intense fear I felt prior to that meeting - the fear of bearing all the girls' disappointment, the fear of losing the friendships, the fear of facing my sheep, the fear of being sent to somewhere 'unknown.' I cried so much when I was alone. And the night I saw you, I couldn't hold back my tears again. As we hugged and I told you how I felt, I felt such comfort in your embrace. And you probably didn't know, but through that, my fears were allayed. I remember you telling me that you wouldn't judge me, and that you'd be there for me no matter what. And honestly, that was how I pulled through that night (and of course with the support and encouragement of all the others too).
There are so so so so SO many more things you have done for me that have left a deep impression in my heart, but I guess I could go on for a long long time so I'd better stop and save you the agony.

In a nutshell, you're one of the friends I know I can call according to the parable of the 10cents. Because you're 100% reliable, and because you always always give your best in loving and appreciating those around you. (Like the movie and slideshow you did for my departure) And you know what? I'm always amazed by the number of friendships you can keep and enjoy. I can tell everyone loves being around you, and I guess that's no surprise at all :)

This year, because you've been faithful with your small portion, God has blessed you with a bigger portion. He has placed you in a new unit, with new responsibilities and challenges. So, rise up and expect new breakthroughs, new growth and new adventures. It's gonna be tough, maybe even impossible. But you know what, God will always see you through. though i don't know you that well apart from the usual 'hi-byes' & short conversations when we meet each other, i must say you've certainly managed to impact (me) from afar! one thing about you that really strikes me is your ability to connect to people and make them feel really comfortable with you. (: hmm i can't even remember how or since when i became 'monkey', and you started calling me that ever since! haha. but its alright, since no one else calls me that. =p

i havn't seen the numerous things you've done for the Kingdom ever since you came, nor do i know of the difficulties you may have faced in this journey. but one thing i know, is that joanne is someone who really gives God her best, evident from how much her people love her. do keep the spirit girl, because you never know whom you're impacting, from all these things that you do! (:

Hey NON-IP!

(aka Joanne Ang, Brokeback Fountain, Steamy and a whole long list of other nicknames)

I bet you are like superly happy now after reading all the posts from the people who are declaring their love for you on the world wide web! (: Don't think I ignored your little hint about wanting a birthday blog arhh.

Remember the first day we met? I can't remember the exact date (I know you do.) but I recall thinking to myself, "This girl's really hyper!" Shortly after that, I joined holy communion and I guess our friendship took flight from there. That was after several times of serving together in various aspects of course. (Ministry, camp games...)

There's one thing I truly admire about you - your courage in serving God. I can safely say that your walk with God hasn't been easy at all (remember the times we chionged out of various LATE NIGHT meetings in a bid to rush home) and you've faced numerous challenges along the way. Through it all, you've remained steadfast in your faith and clung onto God's promises despite difficulties. I think God must be so pleased with this child of His, for sticking with Him all the way!

Now that you're in this new role, I ask that God will continue to anoint you with great wisdom and grant you strength every single day. May He renew this precious relationship with you daily. And I pray that the door of your heart will always remain open for God to come in.

I love how you truly treasure relationships. I don't think I've met anyone who honours her friendships so highly, ever! You're amazing in the way that you remember special dates, and how you always send timely smses to the people you love. That's why your friends and your group adore you so much - they can't help but love you back after all the love you've showered upon them.

Thank you so much for treasuring this friendship that you have with me. You're one of the few people I know that I can be completely open with, and I know we have LOTS of fun at the same time. (Haha. I like teasing you about...) I'm quite awed by the way that we've managed to sustain this friendship despite serving in two completely different units and now, districts! I enjoy spending time with you. I mean it! Even though we don't really get to spend much time together these days, the short chats that we manage to grab with each other? I like. (: Most of all, thank you for listening. It matters.

And yes, let's keep trying bring those people back. Because He loves them far more than we do.

Shall we pace each other in this spiritual marathon? I'll give you a little push from behind if you get tired, and you'll scream 'JIAYOU IP!' all the way. And when one of us begins to lag far behind, let's pull each other back on track. Even if many other people quit the race, we'll keep running and running till we see God face to face.

P/S: A date sometime soon?

Oh well...Time really flies... Have seen how you have progressed in age to what you are now.. Well phases of ministry have also progressed through the years from STC to grads to leading a unit now. Think a few things i observe about you that is biblical and i wanna take this chance to affirm that.

1.Your hardwork in things.
You will always plan for your group in terms of monthly plans what kind of cgs etc and i see this a lot too now as you lead Central C. You are very well updated with the situation of your group and my conversations with you are really fruitful because you are able to share with me whats happening to your people and through that can really see your concern over them that you will find out how they are doing and everthing. This week you went down to the field with your group also to do things together with them.

2.Your excitment and willingness to be used by God
The talk and challenge with you on this restructure of taking up this new group was much quicker thought it to be. You were really willing to move into new land and you were exicted to be with the group and of course they simply love you so much lah. Did banner for you, make you feel super welcome like a princess. They even set up this blog for you lah....

Let this coming year ahead be a year where you will experience new things as you have a new phase of your life and also a new and exciting group to take care of. Praying for you that God will use you more in this coming year and you will experience and see him in new ways too.
